Sub-Zero Appliance

sub-zero_brandThe Sub-Zero brand has been a leader of innovation for over sixty years. It all began in 1943, with a man named Westye Bakke, when he put together the very first ‘freestanding’ freezer in his Madison home. A budding innovator found itself in the hands of an able businessman with the kind of keen observation of the refrigeration market that allowed him to anticipate the trends to build towards them, and two years later, Bakke founded Sub-Zero Freezer Company in an old garage.

The leading manufacturer of built-in home refrigerators came from the modesty of basements and garages, and that pioneering spirit has served Sub-Zero well in the sixty-some years since its inception.

The 50s saw the company innovating the market by creating their first built-in refrigerator designed to blend in with the surrounding furniture of the kitchen, such as cabinets and counters. Their award winning catalogue now includes the 500 Series, the versatile 600 series, the new 700 series and the 200 series of models available for undercounter installation.

Sub-Zero’s aforementioned ‘dual refrigeration’ system has become another hallmark of the company, utilizing two unique cooling systems designed to preserve food with separated self-contained processes working in tandem. These innovations allow Sub-Zero’s refrigeration systems to blend into any nook and cranny of your kitchen, including cabinets and drawers.
